Let's talk Valentines Day

I know, I know, you're thinking, " Valentines days? What? Christmas just ended!"

Well, if your like me and enjoy throwing parties, then you are thinking Valentines Day.  My good friend always host's a Valentines Day Breakfast for her kids and a few close friends.  She has 3 boys, and she invites all their little girlfriends over for a Brunch. Lucky for us we have 3 girls, which makes us a shoe in on the invite list! It's way too cute!

Here are some ideas for a low key Valentines Day Party for your kids and their friends!

First, determine the day and time.  Next, either have your kids help you make invitations out of construction paper & lace and be sure to hand deliver it with a bow around it 2 weeks before the brunch.  You can also use evite (http://www.evite.com/) or smilebox (http://www.smilebox.com/) to create your invites.

Set your budget and stick to it.  Keep it simple, remember, it's for the kids, not you, kids are typically happy whenever the word "party" is involved.

If you have boys, I love the idea of having them invite some of their best "girl" friends to a brunch.  Typically you can get away with this when the kids are younger, if you have older kids, you may not be so lucky!  However, if you have younger kids, plan on having the parents at the party too, if the kids are older, then you may be able to get away with just feeding the kids.

Use websites like http://www.orientaltrading.com/ to get inexpensive decorations or favors if you choose. Or better yet, make the decorations yourself. Visit Christina's website for sensational ideas!

Try using heart shape cookie cutters to make heart shaped ham & cheese sandwiches, pancakes, or pineapple. Get creative and have fun, have your kids help!
