Movie Night

Here is a wonderful idea for a family movie night.  Now, I love to entertain, however I am not so sure I would go through all this work just for my family on a Friday night.  I am thinking this would be a ton of fun for an outdoor summer movie night with our friends next door and their 3 boys!

My husband would probably love this theme more than the kids!

Little Golfer Party

So I came across this Little Golfer party and just fell in love with it!  I am thinking I might have to do this for one of my girls, or perhaps one the boys next door.  Since I don't have any boys, I must resort to using my neighbors boys, but we consider them family so I am thinking I am in the clear!  :)

Back to School Bash!

Hello Ladies,

Can you believe that it's that time already? It feels as though summer has just begun and we are already shopping for school supplies.  It's always so sad when the kids go back to school, it reminds me of yet another year gone, so why not add some fun into the whole "back to school" thing?
My wonderful neighbor, and one of my best friends has decided to have a Back To School Bash!  I am so excited!  Below is a picture from the amazing Amy Atlas blog, it's just too cute, don't you think?

Bash at the Barnyard

As promised, here the pictures from the "Bash at the Barnyard" party.  Everything went wonderful, I am so glad that everyone had a wonderful time.  The kids loved playing with the "horses/pony's", getting dressed up and playing in the barn.  Be sure to head over to www.wix.com/glitterposhparties/glitterposh3 to see full details of this party!

It was so hot outside, the weather said it felt like 98 degree's, so thank goodness we had this tent for the kids

Food stations, the sign's came from another blog that I printed

Candy/Dessert table

Milk Station

Kids Table

These suckers were a big hit and purchased at Oriental Trading

As the guests arrived, I had sign's directing them into the backyard/Farm

As the guests came around the corner, the kids walked through a large barn I made into the farm area.  I also made the pinwheels which lined the path to the "farm"

Personalized welcome sign

Another barn I made, along with a pig I drew on cardboard, cut and painted for the kids to play with

Farm costumes for the kids to use while at the party

I saw this idea on aother blog and loved it, I also made the pony's which was a huge hit with the kids

It's a Farm Party!

Good Morning Everyone!
The air is cool and brisk here, perfect weather for pulling weeds! Sounds like a hoot huh? Actually, I am happy to do it because I am getting everything ready, inside and out for my daughter’s 3rd Bash at the Barnyard birthday party.  She is so enamored when it comes to anything concerning farm animals; so naturally, I thought this party would be a perfect fit for her.  As she witness’s me getting things ready for her party, like creating the label’s for the candy bar or putting together the cutest favor box’s, she becomes so getty, it’s too darn cute!  Even as I sit here to write this, she is right next to me asking, “For me? For my party?”….this party cannot come soon enough for her!
To create this Bash at the Barnyard party I have put together small kid size tables complete with a red and white checked table cloth that has tiny ants printed on it.  Each child has their own place card, which is a tiny farmer’s hat with their names on a coordinating themed card.  Matching linen napkins and wooden cutlery will be placed on the plates.  For cups, I am using small glass milk bottles with straws, topped off with some string tied in a bow.  For the centerpieces I used huge milk jugs and placed sunflowers inside to give the feel of a farm.  Finally, for seating for the kids, I will be using barrels of hay, perfect height for the kids.
For the food I am creating a gourmet hotdog stand along with hamburgers, corn on a cob sticks, veggies, chips and of course chocolate, strawberry and regular milk!  Soda, lemonade and ice tea will be on hand for the adults at the party.
I am looking forward to this party probably just as much as my daughter.  I will be sure to keep everyone updated on the success of the party, will pictures for all.

It's Reveal Day!!!!

I know, I know, it's been too long.  I could tell you all about my trips to the hospital with sick kids, breathing treatments for my infant, and complete lack of sleep, but I think if I just say, "I have been busy 'being a mom'", that you all would understand.  I really wanted to introduce my new company this month, and that is exactly what I am going to do.  Drum roll please.......Say Hello to "GlitterPosh Parties"!
GlitterPosh Parties is a company that will help you create your child's theme birthday party.  I am so excited to finally share it with everyone!  As many of you know I LOVE to through a party and even more so now that I have kids of my own.  I understand how busy life can get and to plan a birthday party on top of everything else can be a bit much at times.  That's why GlitterPosh Parties has come to life. There have been too many party's of my own that I can remember spending countless hours planning and preparing for, only to be so busy before, during and after the party that I did not get to enjoy the party at all!  When it comes to my children, as a mother, I want to be there for every moment.  I want to be able to watch my child enjoy her birthday party, I want to see her smile and laugh and capture those moments not only on camera, but in my heart.  That is why GlitterPosh Parties exists today. To help parents enjoy their child's birthday, to relax and for once, join the fun!  GlitterPosh takes care of everything from the pre-party consultation to the mailing of the invites, games, decorations, costumes, snacks, treat bags, cupcakes and the final mailing of the "Thank You" note.  So relax, and let GlitterPosh do all the work, you deserve it!  I am adding the final touches to my website, so I will be posting that soon so you can see all the different Theme's we provide.  Also, I am going to be posting some specials as well, so be on the look out!

Egg Hunt: part 1

April, it's APRIL! It sure does not feel like it here in Michigan! However, that is not going to stop our Annual Easter Egg Hunt!  Usually I will have little prize items in the eggs for the kids, such as a piece of candy, stickers, coins, but this year I have also added tickets.  Once the egg hunt is done, each child will be able to turn in their tickets for bigger prizes.
Here is a small sample of the candy bar...next to come will be the light brunch menu.

Hopping Along the Bunny Trail

With Easter coming up soon, I find myself very busy with sick kids, getting my business ready to launch and trying to keep everything organized.  I love to decorate for all the different holidays, it reminds me of my childhood, which I totally loved!  So, I began to think of ways that I could decorate this year without pulling all my Easter decor out - I just don't have the time this year and this is what I came up with:

1. Take a small pot, load it with Easter grass and throw in some plastic eggs
2.  I used my "extra" Easter baskets that the kids have received in years past for my everyday items in the house instead of either regular basket.  Like the remotes, I took the normal basket they sit in and placed them in an Easter basket instead.  Now it looks festive!
3.I put up my Easter garland on my mantel, it 's a focal area in our main room and gives that little "Easter" feel without doing much at all!

Simply type in your email address under where is say's "follow by email"  on the right side of this blog!  Happy Following!

A long time...

I am so sorry it has been so long since I have posted anything on my blog.  What can I say, life got in the way.  I have been busy researching for my new company.  I have always wanted to do this, but never felt as though it was the right time.  Well, I am not getting any younger and life will always throw you curve balls, so I am diving in and starting my own company.  As many of you know I have the website, "All Snuggled Up", which is a fun "craft" outlet for me, but it's not a passion of mine by any means.  With that said, I wanted to let you all know that I am going to continue my blog, because my blog pretty much speaks to my passion, but be advised that my post's may be a bit spaced out in terms of "time".  Once I have everything nailed down for my new company you better believe that I will post it on my blog first!  Be ready, I am going to announce it next month!!! Can anyone guess what it is going to be?

Speak your Mind

Alright, as you know from time to time, I will put a poll on my blog to find out what you, the reader, would like to know more about.  Last month the "winning" poll was to know more about kids birthday parties. So to honor that, I will be doing theme kid parties all month.  However, as you see to your left I have another poll to find out what party theme has the most interest. Speak your mind and vote today!

Rags to Riches

Okay, so I am jumping the gun a little, but I am getting the itch to decorate my daughter's bedroom- she's 4 months! We always kept that room as the "nursery" and kept it generic since we never wanted to find out what we were having. Now that we are done having kids, the wall's in her room beckon to me like Michel Angelo and the Sistine Chapel.

Those who know me also know that I LOVE a good deal, it's the thrill of the hunt, and I found a great piece this weekend for only $4.  Here is my Rags to Riches find:

                                                                        Before:

After:

I don't think the picture does it justice, but it turned out great! I added a few more green ribbon's to the frame and it looks awesome!  All I did was take scrapbook paper that have the colors of her room in it, traced out the frame on the paper, sprayed Elmer's adhesive glue to the frame, attached the paper, and put mod podge on top to give it a finished look.  After I hang it in the bedroom I will take another picture so you can see how it all came together!

Angela Conventry Photography

Creative. Fun. Energetic. Comfortable. Patient. Professional.....the list could go on and on.  Angela is one of a kind. She has been our family photographer for almost 3 years now.  She has done 2 of my kids newborn pictures, which people just rave about, she has done our family photo, and is going to be doing another one for us, and she has also done a personal photo shoot of myself as well.  Angela is so patient when it comes to her photo sessions.  She amazes me how relaxed she is, and how she listens to her client's wishes.  She is flexible and professional.  And when I say that she is patient, she is also understanding, which I experienced first hand when my newborn had an "accident" during one of her photo shoots!  I was so embarrassed and all Angela said was, "no worries, it's to be expected with newborns". Wow!
I have referred so many people to Angela because I know they will not be disappointed.
Angela is the Owner/Photographer of Angela Coventry Photography. She is
located in Auburn Hills, MI and is available in studio and on location
throughout Oakland County - Metro Detroit - Southeast Michigan.

The pictures that you see here are of my daughter's newborn sessions thru the years. Melt.
You HAVE to check out her website and blog site, you are going to be impressed!
